It’s often assumed that the horizontal transfer of transposons btw animals is rare (Myr scale). But recent detective work by Kofler lab & others suggest HT must be very frequent, so that a single transposon can successfully invade multiple species around the world in just a few decades! Wild!

The most Danish thing about Denmark is that everyone has been nervous about the King’s first new year’s speech for days, like it was their own son sitting an exam. My parents high-fived at the end.
