I'm happy with this post. I think this is the most permissive we've seen Yoshi-P talk about third party tools before, and it makes me feel less hopeless about everything I do. he seems to understand the passion/curiosity that drives our (and most other games') modding scene

it's a big responsibility that comes with its fair share of stress so this isn't going to be something that happens quickly, which is perfectly fine, it'll happen eventually

update re transferring Ktisis:
there are plenty of people who would be able and willing to keep it maintained for patches at the very minimum, so there's no need to worry about that - but I'm deliberately reaching out to developers who I know can do a good job of building on and improving it first

Since many are using Ktisis today for the MCDF upload, I wanted to share my favorite testing Ktisis feature, Inverse Kinematics.

It allows you to lock hands and feet in place, and have it move with arms and shoulders. It's very handy for people learning to pose, figuring out body positioning.

I spent 6 hours leading up to that release writing and testing it because I wanted to do one last favour for my friends and other users whose MCDFs were now non-functional. it was nowhere near being just a simple drag and drop

Thanks to @chirp.bsky.social, MCDFs can now be loaded with Ktisis. Can't make new ones, but we can use old ones again.

so I would like to focus on my studies as I start a new chapter in my life, where the knowledge I've gained from these projects will no doubt go a long way. thank you all so much for the support over the years ❤️

on top of dwindling enjoyment of the game, upcoming life changes, and the risk of losing it all to a C&D at any moment, my motivation to continue work on plugins has mostly been spent. unfortunately, what started as a hobby now feels like an obligation that has had negative impacts on my health

something I've been considering for a while, but I'll likely be looking to step away from XIV modding while passing development of Ktisis onto a new team, if I can find people who are both capable and willing to do so

worth adding that this method of correlating account IDs was fully patched in the last update, so mare was not actively using it at the time of the C&D. I can see square choosing to action it retroactively but that seems questionable to me

would be very nice with the ability to assign all those mods to a new collection in one click
