Yesterday was #WorldSeagrassDay, @azti.bsky.social is restoring these habitats in the Basque Country. In Butroe estuary we started in 2008 and the system is approaching slowly the good ecological status in 2025: it takes decades to recover degraded systems!

In the Basque Country, in the 70s, we have some of the most polluted estuaries in Europe, after 20 y of management of discharges and otehr 20 y of recovery, we have now achieved good status in most of them. Good news!
