This is what I am referring to by the way. Maybe link national DHB records and referrals before boasting about a Copilot level AI tool? www.1news.co.nz/2026/02/28/a...

04.03.2026 06:36 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0And itβs a 9-12 month length survival recovery so having no access to follow up orthopeadics in Auckland is obscene, when if I lived in Chch - Iβd have had 2 follow ups by now.
04.03.2026 06:34 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0And Iβm able to at least advocate for myself but others may not be as lucky :-(
04.03.2026 06:31 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0This has been a nightmare from start to finish just because I had an accident while in another NZ town. This isnβt a US state system - itβs utterly ridiculous that referrals cannot be made within the same system.
04.03.2026 06:30 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0So forgive me if the talk of efficiency in our A&Es and DHBs is ringing a little hollow right now. Havenβt even had my dressing off an open surgery.
04.03.2026 06:28 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Want to know how connected and efficient our DHBs are? Left hospital after major complex surgery last week in Chch. Was sent appointments for follow up there. Now turned DOWN for any follow up care in Auckland after returning home. Incredible.
04.03.2026 06:27 β π 9 π 2 π¬ 3 π 0Thank-you. Iβve written to them also
23.02.2026 23:38 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Iβm not sure if Air New Zealand has a presence here but I flew home on medical clearance from hospital in Chch to my hometown last evening and they were SO helpful and kind in getting my injured self home.
23.02.2026 21:22 β π 21 π 1 π¬ 3 π 0A closeup view shows the NASAβs Artemis 2 SLS (Space Launch System) rocket with the Orion spacecraft and launch abort system atop at Launch Complex 39B at NASAβs Kennedy Space Center in Florida on Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2026. The Artemis 2 test flight will take Commander Reid Wiseman, Pilot Victor Glover, and Mission Specialist Christina Koch from NASA, and Mission Specialist Jeremy Hansen from the CSA (Canadian Space Agency), around the Moon and back to Earth.
First a hydrogen leak. Now a separate *helium* leak is causing a delay in NASA's Artemis 2 mission around the Moon.
The giant rocket is rolling off the launch pad, with the flight delayed to April 1 at the earliest. π§ͺπ

Yes - itβs just scary and mostly because I probably am more knowledgeable than some patients and I worry what happens when you donβtβ¦.know?
20.02.2026 23:57 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Thankyou! Am still in hospital but feeling like I am on the up and hopefully ready to go home soon
20.02.2026 23:56 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Ugh now the poor nurses in my new cardiovascular ward are telling me to prop elbow up high which was the big no-no in ortho where they understood my surgery better. Moving people randomly around a hospital isnβt good practice.
19.02.2026 06:21 β π 9 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Thankyou Sophie! xx

Less good update that apparently the hospital is so full you get moved out of ortho and into cardiovascular where they βdonβt know anything about orthoβ
Weβre lying if weβre telling NZers they have some working public health system. Iβve lived in many other countries and this is the worst so far
Just so fine
18.02.2026 08:13 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Update: 6 hours of surgery today and so relieved to be out that side. Grateful to the staff but the system is letting us all down.
18.02.2026 08:11 β π 27 π 1 π¬ 2 π 1Thank-you. I def know Iβm also lucky but yeah
16.02.2026 21:06 β π 6 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Thatβs so kind Sarah - thankyou!
16.02.2026 09:10 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Yes Εtautahi - staff are great but hoo boy waiting 6 days already with a shattered dislocated shoulder and face is not great because βlists are at their limitsβ π

16.02.2026 09:00 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Weeping in a hospital bed in excruciating pain with a shattered and dislocated shoulder because surgery lists are full. If anyone wants to know how well the NZ health system runs. And yeah I have private insurance but Iβm limited by ACC because: accident.
16.02.2026 08:59 β π 50 π 4 π¬ 10 π 1Aw thankyou Sophie. Am in Chch
15.02.2026 08:07 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Would anyone happen to know any upper limb/shoulder surgeons in Christchurch for some advice?
14.02.2026 19:18 β π 10 π 13 π¬ 2 π 1Have had a very bad accident and am in hospital awaiting surgeries. :-( In a city away from home. Send puppy and baby an cat photos please
