AI scribe tool being used throughout NZ emergency departments But one union representative is concerned about how secure the tool is after recent health data breaches.

This is what I am referring to by the way. Maybe link national DHB records and referrals before boasting about a Copilot level AI tool? www.1news.co.nz/2026/02/28/a...

And it’s a 9-12 month length survival recovery so having no access to follow up orthopeadics in Auckland is obscene, when if I lived in Chch - I’d have had 2 follow ups by now.

And I’m able to at least advocate for myself but others may not be as lucky :-(

This has been a nightmare from start to finish just because I had an accident while in another NZ town. This isn’t a US state system - it’s utterly ridiculous that referrals cannot be made within the same system.

So forgive me if the talk of efficiency in our A&Es and DHBs is ringing a little hollow right now. Haven’t even had my dressing off an open surgery.

Want to know how connected and efficient our DHBs are? Left hospital after major complex surgery last week in Chch. Was sent appointments for follow up there. Now turned DOWN for any follow up care in Auckland after returning home. Incredible.

Thank-you. I’ve written to them also

I’m not sure if Air New Zealand has a presence here but I flew home on medical clearance from hospital in Chch to my hometown last evening and they were SO helpful and kind in getting my injured self home.

First a hydrogen leak. Now a separate *helium* leak is causing a delay in NASA's Artemis 2 mission around the Moon.

The giant rocket is rolling off the launch pad, with the flight delayed to April 1 at the earliest. πŸ§ͺπŸ”

Yes - it’s just scary and mostly because I probably am more knowledgeable than some patients and I worry what happens when you don’t….know?

Thankyou! Am still in hospital but feeling like I am on the up and hopefully ready to go home soon

Ugh now the poor nurses in my new cardiovascular ward are telling me to prop elbow up high which was the big no-no in ortho where they understood my surgery better. Moving people randomly around a hospital isn’t good practice.

Thankyou Sophie! xx

Less good update that apparently the hospital is so full you get moved out of ortho and into cardiovascular where they β€œdon’t know anything about ortho”

We’re lying if we’re telling NZers they have some working public health system. I’ve lived in many other countries and this is the worst so far

Update: 6 hours of surgery today and so relieved to be out that side. Grateful to the staff but the system is letting us all down.

Weeping in a hospital bed in excruciating pain with a shattered and dislocated shoulder because surgery lists are full. If anyone wants to know how well the NZ health system runs. And yeah I have private insurance but I’m limited by ACC because: accident.
