The second text I teach in that class is ‘Frankenstein’! Students like the connection enough to get through Shelley’s lengthy descriptions of the mountains. 👍🏻

I’m a literature professor so I have to teach the oldies goldies. I do make an effort to key into starter texts I think students will love when I can. Lately that’s Wells’ ‘Murderbot’ or Okorafor’s ‘Lagoon’.

I have a group of friends who are planning to cringe-watch it together, hoping it will be so terrible that it is enjoyably bad. Like ‘Twilight’.
