A marvelous little anthology! SIGNOS collects Filipino supernatural tales: hauntings, monsters, dark fantasies, and horrors, some stories that are tinged with the uncanny, & others that chill the bones. A perfect read for fall, filled with voices that were totally new to me! Really excellent stuff!!

That's a shame. Having a free table or something of that nature would make things easier for most communities, but those in communal management positions like that seem to want to minimize interaction like that as much as possible to save themselves any potential headache.

That's awesome. It also feels good to get rid of big useful things that way instead of having it designated for the landfill. If someone else finds my trash to be their treasure, more power to them.

It's so good to finally live in a chill neighborhood. Hope it stays HOA-free.

Admittedly, I had been living in Bellevue, WA, where HOAs reigned supreme. I was so happy to move out of there...

A small thing I love about my street is that if we want to get rid of something big but still useful (like a cheap but working exercise bike), we can just leave it by the sidewalk and someone will take it soon after. If I did that in the States, HOA would emerge from the depths to drag me to hell.

I wonder how much more challenging it would have been for Percy and Knell if they were in Dungeon Meshi. Percy's cooking skills would be essential, but would the sentient vegetable monsters give him the ick? Would Knell constantly be on the run from folks thinking he's an edible dungeon creature?

I think Knell's recipe would just be "1) Split open shell spider 2) Slurp up the insides"
