A Milwaukee Brewers' Legend Led The Toronto Blue Jays To Their Last World Series Title Milwaukee Brewers fans have never seen their team win a World Series, but one of the franchise's all-time greats got a ring, and maybe gave some joy to the Brew Crew faithful.

How great was Molitor that World Series?

To ensure he was in the lineup, Cito Gaston benched John Olerud for him one game when there was no DH. Olerud led the AL in AVG (.363), OBP (.473), OPS (1.072) & doubles (54).

Molitor went 3-for-4, 3 R, 3 RBI that night.

Pretty bad when it makes even a 9-year-old recognize a problem.

I was 11. I was just so mad about it. He is/was my favorite. Then as details come out, like:

Offering him LESS money than the year before as an All-Star, top 10 MVP vote getter, lead team in many categories.

Just awful.

One could argue this was the closest us #Brewers fans have been to celebrating a World Series title outside of '82. It's not the same as your team winning, but I enjoyed every minute of it.

No, not at all. But I think a pitcher can be great for some parts & very average or "hittable" ...and the batters fail of their own accord.

So you are saying any failure by a hitter is only because of the pitcher?

I appreciate that. I didn't think you were disrespectful. I was really curious because some people don't read the details of the article before responding.

I think that is a good point & likely played a role for some guys...the idea of working counts.

Again. I don't "blame the offense." Why can't both exist?

This extreme one way or another is exhausting. And maybe I am wrong. I like to try to understand the full picture if possible.

I am asking this sincerely. Did you read the article?

Especially by the 3rd time, you have to sell out on what you have been getting. Maybe they didn't want to look dumb being late on a fastball/inside?

Tell me as a hitter I get 70% middle/away & 75+% change/curve? You know what you SHOULD do.

They were never on him. Especially Chourio & Contreras.

We disagree. That is fine. I don't get how they were never on or late on offspeed. Watch their swings...over & over. He pitched very well. They hit very poorly.

I did give him credit. Said he pitched very well. I think in the piece I gave him kudos to hust keep doing the same thing sin e they didn't adjust.

I don't get why it has to get to hyperbole. Mahbe coaches did say stuff? Maybe they didn't believe in the change in strategy. Who knows?

I never said I give him no credit. In fact I say he pitched very well. In the end, the players need to be willing to adjust.

No, I completely disagree. There are plenty of times pitchers overmatch the hitters with their stuff or adjust their own trends when needed.

Last night was way over the top in terms of refusal to make changes at the plate, especially with Chourio & Contreras.

William Contreras, Jackson Chourio Couldn't Adjust Fast Enough Against Blake Snell in Game 1 They say baseball is a game of adjustments. In Game 1 of the NLCS, the Brewers offense showed what happens when you fail to adjust.

I felt like I was going crazy, hearing almost no one bringing up the #Brewers approach last night. Yes, Snell pitched very well...but the hitters were just as responsible for his dominating night.

They must be willing to adjust going forward.

5 Key Questions for Milwaukee Brewers Ahead of NLDS Game 5 One would hope there are more answers than questions when your team reaches a win-or-go-home postseason game. Unfortunately, for the Brewers, their failure to close out the Cubs has raised a few tough...

How we feeling, #Brewers fans? I'm excited for the game...but there are plenty of questions to answer both on and off the field:

Brewers Hitters Should Feel Confident Facing Second-Half Matthew Boyd, Even at Wrigley Field Many people point to Matthew Boyd's stats at home this season as cause for concern for the Brewers in Game 4. However, everything after July tells a different story.

The Cubs are confident in Boyd's home stats this season. Well...those can be deceiving. Recent evidence says it's the #Brewers who should be licking their chops tonight!

Pat Murphy's Eighth-Inning Mismanagement Dealt a Blow to Brewers' Chances in Game 3 A pair of key decisions by Pat Murphy Wednesdayβ€”one obvious and one questionableβ€”failed to put the Brewers in position to steal Game 3 and sweep the series.

Murphy has done a nice job managing the bullpen usage for the #Brewers in the playoffs. But on the offensive side, a couple of key decisions were costly - one of them an obvious whiff.

The Brewers' First 12-Game Win Streak: A View From the Opposition in 1987 "One of the most striking moments of my 42-year MLB career."

Winning 12 straight games is awe-inspiring, even for opponents. The Rangers' PBP man at the time spoke about his memories from the #Brewers 12th win in '87:

"Even though it was against my team... I did soak in the spectacle and was happy for Milwaukee."

The Reds must be stunned. Much like @scorebook_bob was in '87 when the #Brewers first won 12 games in a row.

Bob was the Rangers' broadcaster then, and he shared his memories from that streak:

"We were stunned. It was a sight to behold."

With the #Brewers on a 12-game win streak, I was curious how an opponent felt watching the Crew's first ever 12-gamer in 1987:

"...one of the most striking moments of my 42-year MLB career."

The #Brewers first run of the game today exemplifies how their offense has been so productive.

- Siegler takes 2B on a bobble by the outfielder
- Ortiz a grounder to the right side to move him to 3B
- Frelick RBI single through the drawn-in infield

The #Brewers are using the long ball tonight - not usually their weapon of choice. They just do most other things really well like sac flies, hitting with RISP & 4+ runs in an inning.

They've done all those well, too, tonight.

No one likely cares, but right now my #Brewers lineup vs. RHP:

Turang 2B
Yelich LF
Hoskins DH
Bauers 1B
Contreras C
Chourio RF
Frelick CF
Ortiz SS
Durbin 3B

Combo of overall stats, recent production & RHP splits. And if order doesn't matter, then this hurts nothing.

I know the #Brewers are banged up on the pitching side, but in their quest to keep depth, they often keep up guys who end up doing a lot of damage...before going to the better arms.

Feels the same this year with high potential arms in the minors as we have Rodriguez & Thomas.
