In Veritasium's latest video about Li-ion batteries we learn that these batteries use intercalation of Li+ ions into a conductor

I'm realizing that β€œintercalation” would naturally be pronounced β€œCompiler Language With No Pronounceable Acronymation” (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/INTERCAL )

Very happy with the new Mastodon version, which we just got on Hachyderm.

I really like how the web interface looks, but unfortunately I've never been able to use it on mobile because of the sidebar getting in the way.

This is nice enough I might switch full time to using the web interface on […]

@mattl I could do it for my computer, but the students are doing their projects on their own computers.

There's around 50 people in the class, and many of them aren't particularly technically experienced, so I think it would be impractical to get everyone to change it.

@mattl also annoying in my music production class that the best freeware option for an FET compressor emulation is called β€œFETish” (https://www.patreon.com/posts/fet-bundle-51962024)

Figured out a nice terminal timer!

I find timers incredibly irritating, especially when they keep ringing until you turn them off, which is the case for most of them. I also prefer my tea steeped for an exact period of time.

I figured out how to get a timer in my terminal that rings only once […]

I have a plugin (https://github.com/reillypascal/RSTelecom) that lets you apply telecommunications codecs to a sound, and I'm working on the VOX format I wrote about here (https://reillyspitzfaden.com/posts/2025/05/databending-part-5/).

I posted ( […]

There's a second-floor balcony attached to my apartment, and it's really nice to be able to easily come outside to program, compose, and drink coffee

I'm sharing this to remind myself and inform others about the datesβ€”I often lose track of these kinds of things and I would really like to see them more often.

Reilly Spitzfaden (they/them) (@reillypascal@hachyderm.io) Attached: 1 video I added a feedback delay network reverb to my plugin! https://github.com/reillypascal/RSAlgorithmicVerb/releases/tag/0.5.2 I'd been wanting to do this since I started the plugin, but it took me a bit longer to figure this kind out. There are 8 parallel delays, and all outputs feed back into all inputs, multiplied by a matrix. I'm finding this algorithm sounds less "colored" and more "neutral," and it sounds nice for really long reverbs. #Reverb #Plugin #Plugins #MusicProduction #ElectronicMusic #CPlusPlus #JUCE #Programming #Coding

Reilly Spitzfaden (they/them) (@reillypascal@hachyderm.io) Attached: 1 video I've been continuing to update my reverb plugin with new algorithms! This new "constellation" one is based on a popular 1978 delay/reverb unit, and it's good for shoegaze/ambient sounds, as well as being able to handle more traditional sounds. I also have 3 new feedback delay network algorithms, and I updated the code to simplify adding FDNs. https://github.com/reillypascal/RSAlgorithmicVerb/releases/tag/v0.5.3 #Reverb #MusicProduction #ElectronicMusic #VST #VST3 #Plugin #CPlusPlus #JUCE #Programming #Coding #Dev #Developer
