I bet I could figure out exactly what update it was if I figured out the dates of the con and compared it to the Homestuck log.
It was definitely past the introduction of characters like Erisol Sprite because I distinctly remember looking at an Erisol cosplayers phone to read along

I've realized that at all times I'm trying to recreate the feeling of being at an Anime Con in 2013, attending a Homestuck panel, and having an update drop live while being there

Idk I don't know how unreasonable I'm being here. Like I'm not mad people are having a fun party, I'm mad that this hotel didn't disclose anywhere that the party would be happening under me trying to sleep and charging me full price for it. Would've been nice to know before booking

Man I splurged a bit to get myself a nice hotel for AMKE as a treat but apparently the con's rave is in this hotel? And they put me in a room above it
So I'm just paying like full price to not sleep and to have a really bad time

The real con experience is being in a near constant state of FOMO and exhaustion and having these two feelings battle it out until you collapse and somehow still miss the most fun things

What happened this year that’s made AMKE Homestuck con??
I’ve seen SO MANY Homestuck cosplayers and people covering the more obscure characters, not just the main trolls
I’m obsessed, I feel like I’m living Homestuck circa 2015 again

I think the biggest damage to the art community was the obsolescence of gallery sites (y!, deviantart, etc) and the rise of scroll-by social media, like twitter and even tumblr. Art is not ''content'', you shouldnt need to post art every day (or every month!) to be relevant. This mindset sucks.

Tried to go to one of my fav restaurants only to discover it is now a Sonic the hedgehog pop restaurant selling themed food.

Also this is part of the reason I’m so anti generative AI because time and time again I find that the people who are way into it are maga
So even if you’re not maga, but you use generative Ai, you look like you are.
Even with the best of intentions in using it, my hackles are up around you

Found out today that one of my past photographers is maga/big into AI so I can’t even really share those pictures again because I don’t want to not credit someone’s work but I also don’t want to redirect people to his page

Also just want to be clear I don’t actually believe that at all, it’s just funny to think about

The world did actually end in 2012, but we didn't realize it because we just jumped from universe A to universe B, which is why there's so many cases of the Mandela effect. This is also why everything has felt so unreal for the last 10+ years, because many of us are not in our correct universe.

Like you just know he comes in and plays with the kids and absolutely wrecks the house but April does literally everything else. Real "i don't even know my kids allergies/middle name/birthday" vibes but he's the "fun" one.

Like it's actually crazy that the show ends with him pressuring April to have a child when he has literally never once demonstrated any responsibility. By the end he is still taking notes for appointments on his arm. He drove April's car into a lake and that man wants to be a father???

I'm rewatching Parks and Rec and my reaction to that show is SO different than it was like 10 years ago. Mostly to Andy. I remember thinking he was so funny and sweet, but now I'm like I need that manchild to be run over. I am so unbelievably not charmed by stupidity and incompetence
