if you leave that turret alive, you technically haven't finished the objective. so when you actually finish your second objective and come back for that turret, we skip the flag that says "okay play the cutscene" and instead the level's just over. that skips a 19 second long cutscene!

the two obvious tricks are those ragdoll flings to get the slow ass Y-Wing across the map as fast as possible, but there's a secret trick here: i leave one turret at the second to last objective alive, because the game is programmed to play a cutscene when you blow up enough of your final objective.

i've been in a full-game speedrun drought in Rogue Squadron ever since the WR holder struck back and i've been grinding to respond; failing a trick on this one level has killed 2 really good runs, so i locked in and decided "fuck this level, i'm going to set a new WR"
