This year I started growing a home garden bc I’d rather be bloomscrolling than doomscrolling. Hope I can edit my posts here. SoCal SGV Tovangaar LA Co; Zone10b SunsetZone21

Butternut squash cut in half with the small seed belly looking like a mouth opened in distress with seeds spilling out, and a couple of eyes carved out higher on the fleshy part of the squash. Scene on cutting board with vegetable peeler on kitchen counter.
Finally cool enough in SoCal SanGabrielValley to cook with the oven. Trying Samin Nosrat’s buttermilk chicken recipe.
This little butternut squash (harvested from the communal garden I volunteer in) had an expressive moment in the midst of food prep. It’s now cubed and ready to go in oven.

I tapped through to read about Beyoncé the Metal Chicken and oh my I didn’t know I needed that but I did. Thank you.

The government is shut down because Trump wants to act like a king and steal from you.
Democrats have no obligation to support a budget that funds the destruction of our democracy - and DOUBLES health premiums to fund a tax cut for billionaires.
This is the best elevator pitch I've seen from Dems on the shutdown.

We are children in our hearts, remembering sitting in front of the Tee Vee letting Go See Cal Go See Cal get burned into that place in our brains where deep memories go, but nowadays when we look in the mirror, oh my! we are not the children we thought we were!

Let me be clear: Republicans are in charge of the White House, House, and Senate. This is their shutdown.
I love this. Big metropolis, late night tee vee and someone who made an indelible impression on the boys and girls within the broadcast antenna range of KABC KCBS KNBC KTLA and KTTV
And now those boys and girls are have graying hair and are stooped with age but the jingle oh they (we ) remember it.
I’ll stand upon my head till my ears are turning red

Just skimmed the Wikipedia entry and didn’t see anything there, yet.
I came back here to reply that this opinion, and the postcard writer’s statement, is going to send curious people down the Harry Hole rabbit hole
We don't often see anaphora like this repetition in judicial opinions.
"But not all of them." (law firms)
"But not all of them." (higher education)
"But not all of them." (media outlets)
Constructed through footnotes.
WOW: "I fear President Trump believes the American people are so divided that today they will not stand up, fight for, and defend our most precious constitutional values so long as they are lulled into thinking their own personal interests are not affected.”

The next time you’re in Boston [the postmark on the card is from the Philadelphia area] stop in at the Courthouse and watch your fellow citizens, sitting as jurors, reach out for justice. It is here, and in courthouses just like this one, both state and federal, spread throughout our land that our Constitution is most vibrantly alive, for it is well said that “Where a jury sits, there burns the lamp of liberty.”

The Court answers this Constitutional question unequivocally “yes, they do.” “No law” means “no law.”
Judge Young—who has been on the bench for as long as I have been alive—calls it the most important case he has ever considered.
