And unfortunately, as with many things, Convenience trumps Ethics and Quality.

For a lot of people, the handcrafted one is superior, tailored to them, made with love and thought. However, when you just need a sweater, a $20 one from walmart made by a machine or someone in a sweatshop is good enough, no matter the unethical cost of buying it and supporting that process.

You can buy a knitted sweater anywhere for cheap. $20? $40? Sure, you can swing that, and you can find them anywhere for that price.

But when someone gives you a sweater *they made*? That's where the time, the consideration, the craft, the design come in.

I just had a thought about ai generated images/videos and why some people don't care about them and use them regularly, and I think a good parallel that I think a lot of people can understand is a sweater.
