Great survival horror game, pretty meh Resident Evil game :(

The thing I keep coming back to is this:

They had the ability to make one really good game here. The pieces are all there.

Instead they made two pretty decent games out of the pieces, but a lot of them don’t feel like they fit.

Just finished up RE9 and I'm... incredibly conflicted on it.

The first half is incredible and peak survival horror Resident Evil but the second half is so... eh.

No spoilers, but it just doesn't feel like it has a direction/goal in the second half outside of "hey look at this cool thing!!"

The more I play Deadlock, the more I realize that it might actually be the perfection intersection of everything I like in a video game.
