This is a blunt reminder that your #AI prompts aren't private, so be careful what you ask, since you never know where they may end up.

I think the mission and technology behind the 1X NEO is absolutely fascinating (and it reminds me a lot of "Robot & Frank," a movie that is worth watching if you haven't seen it), but it's still deep enough in the uncanny valley that it creeps me out and I fear it will murder me in my sleep.

Smart Beds Helped Them Sleep on a Cloud. Then the Cloud Crashed.

Any #IoT device with "smart" or "cloud" features should have a local/offline/Bluetooth backup mode. Even if it's a limited experience due to the nature of the device, there should be some way to bypass cloud dependency in case of outages. Anything else is short-sighted at best and hostile at worst.

Jews are worried about Zohran Mamdani. Here's why they shouldn't be Zohran Mamdani's run for New York City mayor has been marred by charges of antisemitism. Here's why Jews should trust the candidate.

“Jewish New Yorkers are not single-issue voters living in fear. We are looking for a mayor who can build a coalition to improve our already great city.”

Great op-ed by former NYC Corp Counsel & Jewish communal leader Victor Kovner on why he’s supporting @ZohranKMamdani.

The richest man on earth owns X.

The second richest man on earth is about to acquire TikTok and his family could soon own both Paramount and Warner Bros.

The third richest man owns Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp.

The fourth richest man owns The Washington Post.

See the problem here?

Why Can’t People Pronounce ‘Zohran Mamdani’? Friends and foes keep getting it wrong. Mr. Mamdani says, “It’s pretty phonetic honestly.”

If you're going to criticize him, at least make the effort to pronounce his name correctly. www.nytimes.com/interactive/...

I don't know about you, but my top issue for the NYC mayoral election is absolutely how many parades each candidate will attend. We really need to start focusing on what matters.

OpenAI’s Sora Makes Disinformation Extremely Easy and Extremely Real

We as a society are absolutely not prepared for what is about to come. AI-generated content is at the point where it is all but indistinguishable for reality. If you haven't been fooled by it yet, you will be.

I tried the viral AI 'Friend' necklace everyone's talking about—and it's like wearing your senile, anxious grandmother around your neck | Fortune New Yorkers are vandalizing posters advertising friend.com, calling the AI necklace “dystopian” and “creepy.” It also just doesn’t really work.

This harsh yet fair review of Friend shows where AI is headed. Who doesn't want a pendant that listens to everything around you and only barely understands it? There is backlash now since the technology is novel yet flawed, but it's the worst it's ever going to be.

A Debate About A.I. Plays Out on the Subway Walls

If Friend really did expect the banners to be vandalized and that's why they left all of that white space, it's honestly a brilliant campaign for what's turning out to be a mediocre product.

It's rather amusing how around half of the "new" features in iOS 26 are already present on Android/Pixel. In some cases (circle to search, call screening, adjustable snooze length), they're been around for many years. Also, Material 3 Expressive looks so much better than Liquid Glass.

There's a story about how Steve Jobs said Apple's design team was "taking the Apple logo in vain" by putting it beside every menu item, leading to the command symbol (⌘) instead. This new internal drive icon isn't it. We do not need more Apples on the screen. Minimalism is so boring and uninspired.
