I would like to see ICE abolished as well but they need to work within the reality of the situation, which is they have ZERO majority to do that. Repubs are rejecting all suggestions because they have the majority. Hoping for them to override that majority is setting yourself up for disappointment.

I don’t see the majority of them voting that way. Possibly a few who are retiring? Even so, they are outnumbered and their votes mean little. Without voters supporting Democrats, this trajectory will continue. Would I like more powerful political parties in the US? Yes, but currently isn’t possible.

In a democracy, we are supposed to feel like we have control over our lives because the people control the government.

But in the U.S., people feel like our lives are out of control because the people don’t control the federal government.

When ICE takes videos of protestors & says "We have a nice little database. Now you're considered a domestic terrorist."

Minneapolis replies: "Hey asshole, you're going to need a bigger fucking database."

Being upset because a party that has no power right now in a majority ruled government isn’t doing what you’d like seems absurd. That’s why I thought you had to be a troll. Can you explain exactly what you expect them to do without any political power?
