White Visitation is the seaside headquarter of an intelligence organization dedicated to control, where interesting experimental psychology is employed in the service of a totalitarian state.

The guy would sell his soul (whatever it’s left of it) to have a tiny shot at getting the Democratic nomination .

If I had a nickel for every time Franz Ferdinand was involved in the precursor events of a world war, I’d have two nickels, which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird it happened twice

I maintain that many of our security issues and and now nascent internal fragmentation are directly downstream from Israel influence in American political life.

You need to be super alert to notice how Tapper and Dana Bash have been carrying water for Israel for years. They do it in a very sophisticated dance, two steps forward one step back providing other Israel supporters enough material to defend them.

Here’s something even more controversial that the imagined Platner Nazism:

β€˜These days, I prefer books that contain something real, or something the author at least believed to be real. I don’t want to be bored by someone else’s imagination.’ Lydia Davis

Musk is Nazi. Extending that label to Platner based on nothing of substance seems like manipulation . He himself never said anything antisemite.

Apparently there’s this guy who made it his job to add me to many many lists because I don’t agree with him on Platner. We are making Bluesky worse than Twitter if there’s never a conversation but screaming and banning.

No, but the meaning of that 19 years ago tattoo for the present day Platner is being purposefully distorted and exaggerated.

No, the best case scenario is that he got it as a militaristic macho symbol. At some point he figured out Totenkopf similarity. People around him knew him well enough to know it didn’t represent him now. He wasn’t running for anything, it wasn’t on his mind. And he then fumbled the response.

It’s only on Bluesky that a few flimsy accusation of guilt by association get this level of traction. Everybody here wants to be liked and in order to belong to the group you need to leave your critical judgement behind.
Normal people stop and weigh the rumors and evidence.

No. Fetterman had not articulated much of an agenda, in part because he’s not very articulate, and speaks in growls and grunts. People assumed support for weed legalization, LGBTQ and unions translate into a progressive agenda. But he barely squeezed 51% of the vote. Progressives weren’t excited.

No, there are none. Listening to a podcast doesn’t mean you agree with the entire host philosophy. You can read Heidegger or listen to Wagner and not approve of Nazi ideas. You can even say a few nice words about them. You can get tattoos in your 20’s, meaningless by 41 and not remove them.

Platner has a very progressive agenda and that’s the reason people love him. I read and listened to him on podcasts. He never used a dog whistle phrase, and there’s no reason to suspect he has another β€œhidden” agenda despite Bluesky power accounts claims. insinuations.

If you balance facts against a desire to be with the mob you would reach the same conclusion. The mob likes to portray him guilty by association. But the same people were telling us that this guy would make a great Vice President

Having a Jewish wife neither absolves nor indict. But Grim said he knows Platner personally - so I don’t know why would anyone assumes he found that out from Nazis.

How is that a not a good thing? Somebody who knows Platner is vouching for him. Bartenders are working class. Going out on the freezing waters of Maine every morning at 4:00AM to get to your oyster cages is working class. I like Platner.

It’s disingenuous to say everyone knows the minutia of skull and bones various representations. I knew about Bush membership in a skull and bones society and the pirate symbol. I knew it means something macho, military, conspiratorial maybe. 22 years old don’t. I find this more disqualifying :

When the big story was Russian campaign of influence on social media, no one on Twitter believed that they themselves were influenced.
If you think Israel is not doing the same you’re just naive. If a molehill is being presented as a mountain, stop and question your influence radar.

β€œHe kept it for 20 years”, yes and he probably would’ve kept it for another 40 years if he didn’t decide to run, and it means just that - that one drunk night in Croatia he got a stupid tattoo.

06.03.2026 02:13 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

I have a stupid tattoo I got when I turned 20, while drunk in Austin Texas. It is embarrassing and offensive, a nude. I wouldn’t think of removing it, I kind of like the memory of the doofus I was each time if I notice it. It’s true.

Five months ago Platner wasn’t running for anything.

Many of these accounts attacking Platner have no posts about Gaza in their history, which is strange since Gaza was such a dominat issue for a few years. If you deleted them because you loved IDF actions or didn’t care enough to say a thing about it you shouldn’t act so outraged at a podcast.

This is in tye same vein as attacks on Platner - if you can find something where he looks vaguely like a dork and you say to people β€œhe’s a dork, hate him” you’ll find a lot more people who want to be cool like you than dorks like him. Even if he’s not a dork.
In fact he looks ok:

A lot of Bluesky feels like a bunch of people complaining that the movie they haven’t seen yet was bad.

05.03.2026 19:41 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Yeah but everyone was ok with his haircut before he challenge the opinion that Platner is bad so I don’t buy your hair take.

The issue with someone in good faith bringing a weak argument is that it will be used by bad faith actors to claim that is strengthening their equally weak argument.

To be fair, half of my timeline on Bluesky is people piling on something that was said by someone on Twitter. In screenshots. Most of the time o don’t even know who that person is, but judging from the replies everybody else on Bluesky knows.

I don’t know man, there’s such a richness of perspectives out there in real world and both Twitter and Bluesky seem to function to converge on one thing each.

A lot of people here who should know better are just succumbing to a well orchestrated effort to build a hostile narrative around him. He is being attacked because he would be the second senator to call Gaza a genocide. The rest is guilt by association.

The article says that he’s asking that half of the funding comes from Israel and the Gulf sheiks. Which kind of makes sense, the funding - just like the war powers resolution is going to go through anyways with Fetterman and all R’s. But at least it forces a recognition that this is Israel war.

It’s not like Trump invented it, other regimes in other countries have done it before, and US has done it too but never in such absolute, blanket suffocating way that euphemism is now so last century.
