Blog update: New Order's "Bizarre Love Triangle" topped the NME Indie Charts in November 1986, but was less fortunate in the official charts. Offcuts and remixes aside, it would be their least successful single for the next 29 years, even though it sounds like an absolute smash. What went wrong?

Actually "Bryter Layter" is the most Boyd-ed, according to Joe's book - too many guests, too richly textured - and the minimalism of "Pink Moon" was a reaction to that.

I've tried them in all kinds of ways, I still don't get it. I've heard the songs, I've read the books, I really want to like his music but it doesn't click with me. You'd think it would be right up my street too. Sensitive minor key melancholy and all that.
