Oh yeah, I did that a lot in the first month. Now I can mostly get by ssh'ing in every so often. The "Check configuration" button under developer tools is your best friend, when you're editing yaml files.

Been running HA for ~6 mo now. Love it! Lots of typical open source issues, like glitchy or partial plugins/integrations. But owning my data is great, and complex custom rules are wonderful. A lot of the problems come from having enough rope to hang myself.
