UCL UCU branch voted for a second donation of £5,000 to Sheffield UCU #FightingFund on Thursday, and pledged *another* £5K towards the next Sheffield UCU strike.
That's £10K in the hand, and £5K in the tank.

UCU national fund- Claim 15 days of industrial action (strike or lockout) support from the National Fighting Fund, starting from the third day of the autumn strike action. Sheffield UCU solidarity fund- Top up the National Fighting Fund by claiming the first 2 days of support from the SUCU Solidarity Fund, and more if you need. Salary sharing scheme- If you are locked out, you can claim support for 3 days/week from the Salary Sharing Scheme, with the possibility of further support for every single day of the lockout.

Members of the administration at the University of Sheffield are threatening to lock out members of @sheffielducu.bsky.social who do not reschedule teaching lost to recent strike action. It's an incredibly damaging choice and a horrible precedent to set if it moves through.

Sheffield have been doing these reviews since at least 2018. They're always awful, done without any notion that there are human beings behind job titles.
For senior management to announce more, now, when the current dispute is ongoing smacks of punishment.

Delegates agreed to motions of solidarity through their branches, campaign for every branch in London to do likewise, and build a serious solidarity campaign in the capital.

Received official notice today that my employer will be withholding 100% of pay for the next three weeks, to myself and all other members of @sheffielducu.bsky.social who refuse (as is our legal right, and our solidaristic duty) to reschedule classes cancelled due to strike action. Outrageous.

Nothing quite like a blanket email from HR to chase away the January blues. @sheffielducu.bsky.social members took lawful strike action in Nov/Dec. we were docked pay.
Now the Uni says refusal to reschedule cancelled classes results in breach of contract and 💯 pay deductions. 😡
Punished twice.
