Due to our constitutional amendment regarding biological sex, we want to clarify: Checkland has nothing against transgender individuals. We believe gender dysphoria is a mental health issue best met with support not surgical or hormonal affirmation.

Following a Parliamentary vote editing Amendment XIII, the Republic of Checkland now classifies Gender Dysphoria as a mental illness.
All gender-affirming procedures are prohibited. Only counseling to align identity with biological sex is permitted.

The debate follows a nationwide constitutional review. A general vote among the Paxian, Timbouroughian, and Anasian Provincial Councils on the future of Amendment XIII is underway, with results expected by June 3rd. The outcome may trigger a formal amendment process.

A strange moment in Parliament today a member of the Checkland Liberal Party called for the repeal of Amendment XIII, advocating unrestricted gender-affirming care while, moments later, a member of the Conservative Party proposed strengthening it to prohibit all gender changes entirely.
