Back from Portland. Had a fun time at the Regional and catching up with friends.

Went 5-3, which is something I accept given the amount of time I commit to prep for an off season, but will hope I can once again make it out of Day 1 at a tour and not just be "5-3, but with a cool team" all the time

Locked in my team for Portland. Never trust someone who tells you that they are bringing a "fun" team to an event.

This team is a "fun" team.

It's kind of funny watching CSR Zama be talked up to being the strongest duo, and almost being easy mode to use, only for it to be largely absent in cut.

Don't get me wrong, it probably is still a very strong duo that is #1 on list to have an answer for. I just like seeing CSR be on fraud watch.

Will not be at NOLA for NAIC this year. This year is a bit busier for me due to needing to hit some professional development hours requirements, so I decided I'd either go to NAIC or Worlds, and the decision was already made for me by winning the lottery on getting a Full Spec pass for Worlds.

Won a local today. Have been meaning to try to go more regularly, but things had been pretty busy over the last few months for me.

Ran my Vancouver CSR team, +1 change.

Started playing Balatro, because someone made a texture mod that replaces all the face cards and jokers with stuff in relation to my favourite vtuber.

Enjoying watching number go up

Hit a 10W streak and reached Ultra Ball 2 Tier in TCGP.
Used a Weavile/Darkrai deck from UB1 to UB2.

Was kind of going through it last night with bricked hands and losing to 3+ Flip Rocket Grunt game steals, but luck turned around and got to go on an 8 game win streak to hit Ultra Ball 1.
Was using a Gyarados ex deck.

Will be attending Portland Regionals at the end of May. See you guys there.

Went 5-3 at the Vancouver Regionals over the weekend. Was running a CSR team. CSR feels like that mon who's like "Why is everyone so mean to me I'm just a little guy- HAHA YOU FOOL, YOU GAVE ME AN OPPORTUNITY, NOW EAT THIS +2 HH ASTRAL BARRAGE! GRIM NEIGH GRIM NEIGH GRIM NEIGHHHHHH!!!! 🐴"

probably helps to clean up clutter when you don't need to grandfather in a bunch of features to the story campaign that are only relevant to the competitive aspects, and similarly don't have to tie ensuring the functionality of a whole RPG campaign to your competitive mode medium.

It's probably too early to tell, but if Champions is meant to split off competitive from main games, so that each part can be attended to properly, it could be huge for the quality of the upcoming gen games, and for playing competitive on "cart". As current mainline has to cram in stuff for both.

Optimistic about Pokemon Champions. Which honestly, is a big change from the usual indifference and expectations-to-not-meet-expectations I tend to have for games.

This time, SURELY, we get battle replays back, right?

Way too much VGC history is lost because we can't.

It's kind of frustrating when a game, where the series is known for it's story writing, seem to have an entire event story localized using AI translation with little proofreading, since there's no way it's a normal error to have a character's name misspelled in 7 different ways in one scene.

Back from the trip to Atlanta. Had a wonderful time at the concert. I'll try to do it next time not in a way where I spend a large part of the weekend in travel transit. Was fun meeting up with other Wisps and Dragoons, would go again when another concert is held.

I did not hit a 5W streak in TCGP.

Surely I can not brick on getting a 5-win streak in TCGP while waiting around at the airport for flights.

Except you know, the stakes being once again the most important election in our life time, for the third time.

Will feel a lot of unease about what Trump and the Republicans will try to jam through during their new reign, and how that will cascade globally.

You ever watch a group of people play Mafia, where the town gets an early lead, looks like it's about to call the final mafia member for game, but then somehow finds a way to throw the game from that position and lose?

That's the feeling I've had when watching the recent US election cycle unfold.
