Lyd and I watched Nosferatu the other night and it was so bad Iโm caught up on that now. I feel like thereโs a growing gap between critical praise and โactualโ quality (whatever that might mean, subjectively).
30.10.2025 17:30 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 2 ๐ 0Joseph Crabtree produced some of his most stylistically original work in the 1930s. In thisย scene depicting the city of Durham in the northeast of England, he used a realistic stone coloured palette and arranged buildings into regular geometric patterns.

24.10.2025 16:00 โ ๐ 18 ๐ 7 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 1IMHO T. Matsumoto is brilliant - yes no news there, heโs one Eisner - but his line is wild , textured, varied. Iโm not a huge fan of manga where itโs so crisp and stark. I love the almost controlled naรฏvetรฉ of his line work!
This story is near incomprehensible atm, but loving it still
Yes! That one blew me away, thereโs so much life and skill in the drawing. Both looser and more precise than I can draw, I envy it haha really inventive.

22.10.2025 17:35 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0A frame from Mothra vs Godzilla (1964). Two men stand in an office. One of them is looking at the other and his moustache is, frankly, too small. The other man has a grey suit, red tie, tinted glasses, and a skeptical look on his face. The caption reads, "Mothra gave you power of attorney?" Not pictured: Godzilla; Mothra; the public notary
