09.03.2026 15:51 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0plenty of big brained ways to look at this and Travis frankly frustrated the hell out of me last season but at this point you gotta just choose to enjoy another lap with this guy while you can

09.03.2026 14:38 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I do think AK tried to take a legitimate swing at something in 2021 (which was far removed from tanking) but he froze too completely after that failure to dig them out. Which is why it feels like theyβre stuck on a wheel now.

Will be banging this drum a lot in the final weeks of the season, because it really REALLY matters re: ownershipβs decision to keep ArtΕ«ras KarniΕ‘ovas around.
Whether the Bulls get lucky in the lottery or not is a moot point for AK. This is about vision and leadership in the long-term.
Process matters as much as results when a team is in the early stages of a rebuild.
Wrote about how last nightβs loss revealed key weaknesses for Bulls leadership, which still struggles to do the hard (but necessary) thing:
The glaring concern for the Chicago Bulls is that Sundayβs loss to the worst team in the NBA didnβt seem all that purposeful or planned.

The Bulls lost to the worst team in the NBA tonight.
Yet even that positive (negative) outcome seemed to happen by mistake.
Wrote about how this team still seems to be losing on accident β and an organizational lack of stomach for making hard decisions:
Collin Sexton will not return to this game with a leg contusion.
Scored a team-high 28 points off the bench after going 7-for-9 from 3-point range.
Breaking News: New video adds to evidence that a U.S. missile likely hit an Iranian school where 175 people, many of them children, were reportedly killed.

Jalen Smith is back tonight under a minutes restriction. Playing him is reflective of the Bulls' organizational failure to "tank."
Would fully be in their rights to shut down a guy who has tried to play through multiple calf strains. Instead he's out here blocking the snot out of Maxime Raynaud.
The Bulls came into this game with a very important scouting directive: anyone who bites on a DeMar DeRozan pump fake gets fined $100.
Sad that we couldnβt see that one in action (DeMar is out sick).
Blackhawks general manager Kyle Davidson said a lot today, but it all comes back to his trust in his youth, and developing his young team into winners.
"We believe in them wholeheartedly, not just with rose-colored glasses..." β¬οΈ

I went to WNBPA HQ to interview executive director Terri Carmichael Jackson about the split amongst members.
βThe one thing I said to [the players] is they have one tool and their tool is to out wait you."

The Bulls have always taken a somewhat haphazard approach toward Josh Giddey.
Is he their star? Just a building block? Some secret third thing?
The dynamic is only getting more confusing in the weeks after a deadline overhaul:
tried to talk about this on here last year and (in typical bsky fashion) someone essentially called my childhood school district unaccredited within an hour of posting, letβs see if we can beat that time!
04.03.2026 16:30 β π 9 π 0 π¬ 5 π 0itβs that time of year again β gotta ask every person in my life if they grew up in a school district where teachers put March Madness on during class and watching the folks from the coast have an aneurysm over the concept

Matas Buzelis scored 11 points for the Chicago Bulls on Tuesday before limping to the locker room near the end of the third quarter.

Both have returned to the bench. Giddey is set to check in.

Josh Giddey and Matas Buzelis both just limped off the court in short succession for the Bulls.
Looked like ankle issues for both.
Obviously some injury aberrations for some top stars but this also fits with what Iβve anecdotally heard from some coaches/players about the constraints of the current pace of the game

For four years, Nick Martinelli has called Northwestern home, rising from a freshman reserve on the first of back-to-back NCAA Tournament teams to become one of the best scorers in program history.
Itβs a career arc that is becoming rarer in the transfer-portal era.

There is a particular relief in dodging the worst type of history.
The Bulls basked in it Sunday after snapping an 11-game losing streak with a beatdown on the Bucks β draft lottery odds be damned.
By the time the Blackhawks return to the United Center, the roster might look a little different.
The NHL trade deadline is at 2 p.m. Friday, and several veterans have seen their name bounced around in rumors, though moving them isn't certain.
The Bulls didnβt win a single game in February.
But tonightβs loss at least came with a silver lining.
A slew of prominent WNBA player agents sent a letter on Thursday to WNBPA executive director Terri Carmichael Jackson expressing "our collective preference for transparency and coordinated communication" with agents moving forward in CBA negotiations.

Rob Dillingham felt trapped in an anxious cycle during his time in Minnesota.
Now, the guard is seeking freedom. Can he find it in Chicago?
Went long on the push-pull dynamic of another young player trying to build an identity in Billy Donovanβs system:
Even at the end, Coby White always hoped he could be the one for the Bulls.
But now, as he returns to his long-time home, White can't worry about the dreams that never came true.
"Iβve kind of learned through my life that βwhat could have beenβ brings you nothing but anxiousness and worry."
Anfernee Simons has a fractured wrist.
Billy Donovan described it as an βold injuryβ that occurred initially in training camp with the Celtics.
Surgery is not on the table. Billy says heβll probably be out for 10ish days to allow pain to subside and then the doctors feel heβs fine to play on it.
