Itโs new book release day ๐๐ป Just ordered my copy!
01.05.2025 00:25 โ ๐ 14 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Undeniably nasty, unapologetically virtual and steeped in something best left unidentified, โDeath Spell,โby @paperbacksandpugs.bsky.social is a writhing, pulsing and coalescing โcoming-of-rage,โ story for readers looking to test limitsโฆ stomachs and gag reflexes.
@lordtbrffa.bsky.social
Yesterday, I flew through all 200 pages of The Haar by @paperbacksandpugs.bsky.social. An excellent piece of horror with a cool creature, a cast of assholes you can revel in getting ripped apart, and a fucking awesome old, Scottish lady. Lots of gore and surprising romance! #horrorlit
21.04.2025 15:10 โ ๐ 8 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Sounds great. Iโll check it out, always looking for a new game.
25.04.2025 20:35 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Oooh, whatโs Deep Regrets?
25.04.2025 19:10 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Thank you!
14.04.2025 12:40 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Hi, they wonโt be on Kobo, but in a few months youโll be able to get the paperbacks at any bookstore.
14.04.2025 12:40 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Cover mock up for a book called A Row of Open Graves (And Nine Other Stories Of A Macabre Persuasion) by Jamie Evans. The cover image is an illustration of bodies in open graves with a beam of torchlight illuminating them.
I have written a book, available now. Have you ever wondered what M.R. James stories could be like with added exploding bodies parts? Well, you're in luck! (What do you mean, you haven't?) I've gone for a sweet spot between classy supernatural tales and 'eew, yuck'. CW abound, proceed with caution.
22.02.2025 08:01 โ ๐ 24 ๐ 9 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 2Itโs the most graphically violent, Iโd say.
17.02.2025 16:48 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Thrilled to announce my new novel DEATH SPELL will be unleashed on May 1st 2025!
.
This ultra-gory satirical splatterpunk madness โ think John Waters meets HG Lewis โ can be preordered on kindle right now, and the paperback will be available on the day.
The amazing cover art is by @maciejkamuda_art
Youโll have read them all soon!
21.12.2024 23:10 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Two of my fastest reads this year, both by @paperbacksandpugs.bsky.social. Two tonally different thrillers, read back to back in one sitting. Apart from a few bathroom and coffee breaks, the only time I paused was when my Kindle died, and I had to dig out my iPad.
21.12.2024 13:40 โ ๐ 5 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 2 ๐ 0I have seen it. Didnโt notice any particular parallels myself, but I wrote the book four years ago, so itโs not exactly fresh in my mind! ๐
12.12.2024 14:28 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Only in our dreams.
12.12.2024 14:19 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Thank you!
11.12.2024 21:52 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0The Haar is one of the funnest novels I've read in awhile. It's Lovecraft meets Hellraiser meets The Thing. Highly recommend for anyone who enjoys visceral body horror. @paperbacksandpugs.bsky.social
11.12.2024 21:35 โ ๐ 13 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 4 ๐ 1Amazon doesnโt allow preorders for indie books published through their KDP program. It will be available tomorrow though, in paperback and hardcover.
04.12.2024 15:14 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0David Sodergren streak continues. 5 books down, 5 more to go!
Aim is to read all the @paperbacksandpugs.bsky.social releases by the end of this year and kick off the new year with some Carl John Lee for a change.

Hate to tell you, but itโs 6 more to go, because I have a new one out in two days. ๐
03.12.2024 14:19 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I'm about 90% into listening to the folk horror novel "The Haar" by @paperbacksandpugs.bsky.social , and out of nowhere, the name Bianca Del Rio appears. You never know where she'll pop up! Lol
28.11.2024 21:42 โ ๐ 6 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Thank you.
25.11.2024 13:31 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0You know what? I think weโll be okay if thatโs the case. ๐ A book where the main message is tell your friends and family that you love them, and tell them every damn day.
25.11.2024 13:11 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Thank you, Geoff!
21.11.2024 07:34 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I just finished The Haar by @paperbacksandpugs.bsky.social, and it instantly became one of my favorite books. It's incredible. I'll be checking out more of David's work.
21.11.2024 03:59 โ ๐ 7 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 3 ๐ 0Lol, that titleโs not far off one I had planned for a while.
14.11.2024 16:03 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Hereโs a handy guide to my published work so far, including my Carl John Lee titles.
14.11.2024 15:29 โ ๐ 33 ๐ 7 ๐ฌ 4 ๐ 1Theyโve dated really well, thanks to timeless cinematography and little reliance on dated effects. Some of them, like Kairo, are even more relevant today than ever.
14.11.2024 14:27 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Sensationally eerie Japanese folk-horror SHIKOKU (1999) may just be the most beautifully shot J-horror of the era. Part romantic melodrama, part ghost story, with plenty of chills and achingly gorgeous mountain vistas to set the longing, nostalgic tone. Wonderful stuff.
14.11.2024 13:18 โ ๐ 18 ๐ 2 ๐ฌ 2 ๐ 0With its heavily manipulated image, J-horror ST JOHN'S WORT (2001) most closely resembles a PS2 survival horror game. I can see why some folk would hate this, but I adore the mix of point & click adventure, moody mansion exploration, and messed-up horror.
12.11.2024 22:20 โ ๐ 30 ๐ 4 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Psychotic Japanese splatter epic TOKYO GORE POLICE (2008) is like the offspring of Robocop and early Peter Jackson, a satirical sci-fi horror bloodbath drenched in spectacular gore effects. Arguably overlong, but undeniably insane, and with some truly unforgettable imagery.
