David Roth really kills it here. This brand of bullshit won’t work for nearly as long if you don’t participate in snitching on your neighbors.

REALLY enjoyed this book (and enjoyed that Bookshop got it to me before the release date so that I could read most of it as the season started, which was the goal)

This is the worst part about baseball fandom and always makes it a pleasant surprise when players pipe up with decent opinions

My favorite player since I was a kid! Got to meet him back in July up in Kalamazoo at a Growlers game and he’s a really cool guy!

In addition to this plan being horrifying, obviously illegal, and impeachment-worthy, it’s absolutely pathetic how these bootlickers fantasize that a certifiably insane 280-pound tub of rancid mayonnaise who has been tapping at death’s door lately is somehow this buff, steely action hero.

*Wall Street Journal reporter: Hi Josh, can I ask you some questions?
*Me: I'm not qualified to comment on anything related to Wall Street.
*Reporter: It's for a story about the genius of Nancy Faust.
*Me: Ooh, hold on while I gather my 1,200 pages of notes on the topic.

Why should I write better when a machine can do it for me?
Because actually no one can do it for you, because your voice is unique among all the people on earth. Siri never petted a horse's neck. Alexa has never been ghosted by the captain of the football team. But you have lived, your heart is beating, you have suffered, and you have something important to say. It's a human's job, to use words, and whatever job you give to a machine, that part of your brain goes dark. Maybe it's worth it when it comes to remembering phone numbers and directions, but when that part of your brain that uses words goes dark, that's a vast area that's very close to your soul. Don't let some internet platform convince you that what you have to say and create isn't worthwhile. Words are the echo of your soul. Honing that echo matters.

Maybe they’re last metric in the formula is vibes. So now the Tigers offense should be encouraged by having a hopefully more stable bullpen and should perform better because of that 😂
