Borrowed a friend's costume to match @storytellercosplay.bsky.social while we pass out candy tonight. This is my first time in years to live in a neighborhood with a lot of trick or treaters.

To be fair my one special skill is I can identify video game music with an uncomfortable amount of accuracy but it means a lot that the guests really like it and vocalize it so much.

I recently worked on the EMEA Valorant Ascension trophy. Specifically the most of the paint, some cleanup, assembly, and the casting and gloss for the ORB.

Cool finish! I'm happy whenever a trophy looks like it's rendered but it's just there right in front of you.

I use an extension to read news articles with a text to speech voice because I work with my hands a lot. Just today they forced me to listen to a "conversation" an AI bot jarbled together of two people summarizing it and I had to go out of my way to turn it off. It did one job and they broke it.

It took me way to long to just look up a list of basic Horror movies. The week before Halloween. And when I did it was all just kind of garbage.

I felt a tiny bit clever for that. I think they use transforming cards a bit too much for UB characters but it makes sense for Makima being more than she seems. Monkeys paw but honestly Chainsaw Man works better than most real world fictional settings for a UB.

And then she turns into a blue black devil and steals a creature. You lose life equal to it's mana value. Flips back when she dies.

I think the key distinction though is *I* can but WotC can't.

That's understandable. I did not intend to imply that very real labor and skilled decisionmaking don't go into that, rather alluding to things like Funko, Fortnite, and Magic the Gathering where lately the only thing that matters is an identifiable object and not the actual human element making it.

Based on how much I have to explain to clients how to design for 3d, I'm not worrying about this affecting my livelyhood anytime soon.

No but for real the more games I play the more compulsion as a mechanic really bothers me. Alot of the appeal of games feels like it's just recreating the Machine Zone.
