I have met McBride, spoken to her several times and she is a wonderful person.

That said, a lot in my community are concerned that moderate dems view what she did as a "reasonable compromise."

We've already seen some indicate it (Buttigieg, who I also respect and have spoken with)

As for the artworks, I can't really agree that the cultural context reference trans femininity at all, the sentiment to apply it there is still appreciated. I do however think you should be wary about applying "tradition" to ancient greco-roman art because it's found in nazi ideology frequently

It reminds me of that bit in the opening of hitchhikers guide where humans think they're the smartest organisms on earth because they created digital watches and capitalism while the dolphins just jumped around all day and played when in truth dolphins were smarter for NOT caring about such things

The "bluesky is an echo chamber" think pieces that keep popping up really tickle me because they show how certain people genuinely believe social media should be for debating and arguing and not talking about the things that make you happy and sharing art with the world.
