It’s like kerning. Once you know about it, you see it everywhere it’s wrong.

Fantastic insights and perspectives here, even for those outside of the design, engineering, and manufacturing communities. Thanks for sharing, @d2lo.bsky.social

Half the joy of listening to New Order on vinyl is @petersaville.bsky.social β€˜s artwork at LP-scale.

Here’s a visualization study attempting to show some of the internals of the throttle subassembly for the Boosted Rev scooter. There’s a clever little mechanism inside that generates a controlled response torque on the thumb wheel while modulating power to the electric motors.

Great article. I love the attention to the physical tactility; torque vs rotation angle vs total range of adjustment. These nuances matter more than most people realize.

100% with you! Great find on that video. It’s a bummer that it never made it to production.

I stumbled across this in my archive and realized it’s been a while since I’ve shared it. It’s a concise summary of one of my personal hardware design principles.

It’s refreshing to see tactility addressed so directly in a UX study. Nicely done.

I’ve only heard stories from colleagues on the inside. Is there any hope of change?

I’m working on an image for the thumbnail on an upcoming podcast episode. This is my first swing at the right 1/3 of the thumbnail.
