Aren’t my whole application, scientific project, letters of recommendation, first author publications, academic record and current employment in a top tier US University enough proof that I can at least get by in this country? Damn.

It’s so extremely frustrating to be an immigrant and, besides not being eligible for the majority of NIH grants, still have to be submitted to proficiency tests to prove that I’m able to speak English in order to have a fellowship *submitted* (not even approved).

So many people popped up here in the last 48 hours and I honestly don’t even know how to use Bluesky yet 😂
