Two new reviews up on @meeplemountain.com today. The first is Embers, from @buttonshy.bsky.social, which is on crowdfunding now. As I mentioned yesterday and mention in this review, Embers is a good game and a great design, showing how much 18 cards can evoke.

My review of this will go up tomorrow, but I can tell you that anyone interested in the evocative possibilities of small card games should take a look at Embers. It's a good game, I really enjoyed it as a player, but it's something everyone interested in design should take a look at.

Wild Magic is the only one that shuffles in. You can PNP all of the others and play with a physical base game.

As of today all 12 Mysticana games are available on PNP Arcade. There's a bit of everything in there for all player counts and play styles. Oracle's Sight the most unique of them all - a tool for guided mindfulness, using the Mysticana deck to provide insight into personal questions and experiences.

At Gen Con, I was lucky to snag a prototype of Lands of Amazement from @buttonshy.bsky.social. I enjoy this kind of spatial puzzle and I really like the layers this @scottalmes.bsky.social design adds in terms of how you carry over cards, gain bonuses, and target the final park. #SoloGaming

The prices are low like a Kickstarter. Even less because we don’t have their fees to deal with. And it all launches tomorrow at our site with all of the details that you will ever want. Hopefully! (5/5)

But our whole model is based on monthly releases. So we ordered a bunch of games ahead of time, allocated some for our patrons, and the rest are available to you. (4/5)

It’s all on its way, but saving the 145% tariffs (at the time, currently at a still somewhat unmanageable 30%, but worse than the rate is the uncertainty of all of it) at the cost of some time was the best decision we could make. (3/5)

So what is it? Basically the tariffs caused us to switch card printers and the US printer takes a lot longer than the Chinese printer. All of our Kickstarter campaigns are a little backed up while we wait, so we can’t really launch any new campaigns until that stuff arrives. (2/5)

Coming out of the fiery ashes of the board game tariffs is Button Shy Direct - our crowdfunding but not really crowdfunding program at our site. We’re launching 8 new titles tomorrow, and they’ll be here and ready to ship to you in August. (1/5)
