Dear Mrs. Lafferty, thank you for always being supportive and helping me towards my goals. I have learned a lot from you about my IEP and about myself. You helped me realize that my IEP is mine to use and to stand up against Thor who give me a hard time. Having your support has helped me be the senior I am right now. Trying a thing where I pretend I’m a grown up adult and take care of things like a grown up adult. Today is my first quarterly “shampoo the carpet in the high traffic areas” day and it smells so nice in here 🥹

Discussing the wild cost of living in coastal California, especially Santa Cruz, with a fictional friend while flying (!) over redwoods makes for one hell of a sense of disorientation upon waking

Had a dream last night that I met up with a friend* from Santa Cruz and we talked books. I admitted to not having read much since 2020, and she suggested some books* I might enjoy. We then met up with friends who were in a band* who had moderate success for coffee

*none of these are from real life

What worked was Wellbutrin + an SNRI.

Literally even when I thought I wasn’t depressed, I never felt this…just…even-keeled.

I asked my therapist on Wednesday, “is this what it feels like to not be depressed? I’ve never felt like this before. Ever.”

I’ve tried all of the things. Diet, exercise, sleep schedules, St. John’s Wort and Sam-E, probiotics, faking it until I (didn’t) make it, smiling a lot, church…

In the past couple of weeks I’ve gotten so much stuff done. Like, putting up a loft bed. Purging and organizing a bunch of closets, assembling a dresser, taking box springs to be recycled, meal planned, grocery shopped and cooked, kept my apartment clean, stayed on top of work

Wish me luck next week in world history we start the interwar period where fascism and the allure of dictatorship thrived and my job hangs in the balance for teaching straight up history and the kids can draw whatever conclusions they can from the evidence presented.
