Canโ€™t argue with a blissed-out cat as a sign of a job well done. Cats may love us but we all know they wouldnโ€™t lie to save our feelings ;)

I know you're all giving what you can.

If you can help my actual in-person buddy Caz's immediate neighbors, fantastic.

If you can't donate, any signal boost is appreciated.

Also, Caz will post pics of Kenny the Lizard.

#LunarEclipse FAQ:

Q: Is it safe to look at?
A: Absolutely! Unlike a solar eclipse, there's no UNsafe time to look at a lunar eclipse.

Q: Do I need a telescope?
A: Nope! Best view is with naked eye. Just look up!

Q: Does the eclipse portend terror & doom?
A: Not at all! The news has that covered.

What to say. You donโ€™t need to be an expert. You donโ€™t need to write a legal brief. A few sentences in your own words carry weight. But if you want to make your comment as effective as possible, here are the points that matter most:

Demand additional alternatives. The BLM has only proposed two: do nothing or maximize logging. Insist they analyze alternatives that increase harvest modestly while maintaining meaningful protections for old-growth, listed species, water quality, and recreation.

Challenge the fire argument. The BLM claims increased logging will reduce wildfire risk. The science says the opposite for industrial clearcutting and plantation management. Say so.

Raise the streamside buffers. Twenty-five-foot buffers are a joke for protecting endangered salmon and steelhead. The agency knows this. Call it out.

Defend the ACECs. The BLM is required to reevaluate all existing Areas of Critical Environmental Concern in the planning area. Thatโ€™s over 100 designated areas. If youโ€™ve visited any of them, say so. If they matter to you, say so.

Name the places you care about. Valley of the Giants. Maryโ€™s Peak. Alsea Falls. The Sandy River. The North Fork Clackamas. The Upper Molalla. Personal connections to specific places carry real weight in NEPA proceedings.

Demand public meetings. The BLM has said it doesnโ€™t intend to hold any. Thatโ€™s unacceptable for a decision of this magnitude. Tell them.

if the US government logs these trees at the rate / quantity they're proposing, we'll lose one of the last old-growth forests. there's no coming back from that. if you have five minutes to leave a comment pushing back against the BLM, please do; there's a guide to that below.

People refuse to acknowledge how an LLM actually works, and insist on assigning meaning and understanding to its output. There is no meaning, and the system understands neither the userโ€™s question nor its own โ€œresponse.โ€

BLM Announces Plan to Fell Oregon's Last Great Forests One billion board feet per year... 30 days to make your voice heard.

You only have a short time to comment. They are trying to destroy our forests to enrich a few logging company executives and the politicians theyโ€™ve paid off.

Today is Disability Day of Mourning.

People with disabilities are far more likely to be trapped in abusive relationships.

To be killed.

To be assaulted.

Weโ€™re forced into legislated poverty & made to be dependent on people who donโ€™t always have our best interests at heart.

Did you know that the bees that need saving are NOT honeybees?

Honeybees are the dairy cows of bees. People brought them over from Europe to make us honey.

The problem with honeybees, esp in resource-limited ecosystems (like hey! cities!) is that they compete with our native bees for food.
