9. COMMUNITY. Decide what your goals are, and build your community around that. Do you want to sell commissions? Engage in other artists who sell comms, or buy comms. Do you want to join rp groups? Find other roleplayers.

The people who follow you are the ones who will consistently see your posts-

8. ENGAGEMENT. Most artists who have moved and dedicated time to using bsky have noticed that although they won't have posts that hit the same peaks as twitter posts, they also won't have the inconsistency.

e.g. instead of fluctuating between 2 or 2k retweets, they'll consistently have 200.

7. STARTER PACKS. These are a good way to find artists! I have one for OC artists, but you can find others made by other artists you like! You can search for starter packs in any kind of niche! Just add 'starter pack' to your search

You will naturally grow the more you post. I've seen a lot of mutuals gaining 1000s of followers who post their art very often (e.g. multiple times a week).

This can include sketches, old work, merch, etc., anything works!

6 GROWTH. It takes time to gain followers. Posts don't blow up like they do on twitter, and bsky does have bots, but not nearly as many as twitter. Generally, growth is slow and happens with consistent posting.

I barely managed to get 100 followers using twitter for 5 years. Here I have almost 700

5. REPOSTS. Reposts are critical here! This include reposting other artists, and even reposting your own, older posts so people can see them. There is no algorithm, so there's nothing that pushes your posts out to people, it's just a matter of whether they're only to see it on their feed!

4. PARTICIPATE. Join art share posts. Respond to prompts. Comment on people's posts. Repost, like, all of it counts!

I recommend following @dailyocs.bsky.social for OC related prompts.

3. FEEDS. Use feeds to find artists! I personally use the mutuals feed most often to see my mooties posts, but there are a lot of good feeds!

You can search these up by looking at the feed tab. Find one that works for you. There isn't an algorithm, so these will be key in finding new artists.
