It doesn’t really run in our family per se. There were some people drank too much, but not alcoholically, whereas I very much did from early teens. I’m pretty sure my addictions were reactions to childhood. My kid knows my story, so I guess we’ll see. They’re not that into it at all currently 🤞

Sat with my newly 18 year old yesterday, drinking a Guinness zero while they had their first legal drink, and hoping alcoholism isn’t genetic. I’m not going to let my issues stop them from living their life, but it’s hard to not be a backseat drink/ driver.
