“A Singular Sense of Style” giclée art print What we have here is an extremely posh, well-attired Grackle-About-Town sauntering nonchalantly along top a stone wall, past a much surprised, amazed and bewildered black alley cat. The cat doesn’t have the foggiest notion what to make of this situation. The hand-lettered text below sums up the cat's predicament. This humorous drawing is rendered in dip pen & ink using a crosshatching technique.

“The Usual Suspects” giclée art print Here we have four mysterious, furtive and highly suspicious-looking black cats with glowing eyes, sitting together on a park bench, late at night, under the light from a lamppost. Are they plotting something nefarious - or just mischievous? Or, has the deed already been done? Or are they just four good friends gathered together to enjoy each other's company, who happen to look guilty?

The title is "Mise en Scène pour la Nuit". The stage has been set for the night's events. The characters involved have assembled. (Yes, I consider the crescent moon, park bench, topiary hedge, and the lamp post all as players in my 'production'.) What might transpire tonight in this hidden, lonely corner of the old park? Are they waiting for another, as yet unseen participant to join them? You might think it unfair, but I'm leaving it up to your imagination to create the scenario and whatever story may follow. My drawings are collaborations between myself and the viewer. It takes your mind to complete them.

“The Wanderer of Night Land” giclée art print I’ve made countless nighttime sojourns through landscapes of all kinds: through woods, along lakesides, neighborhoods and parklands in search of the effects of moonlight and lamplight on my surroundings. Along the way I’ve encountered many a lone cat exploring its own nocturnal world. I think this cat is perhaps a self portrait - me, investigating the magical night world I love.

“Encounter in the Old Park” giclée art print Two cats have unexpectedly come across each other in an old English park quite late at night. They're startled to say the least. Do they know each other? Will the one play it safe and keep walking? Is territory involved? Will they become good pals? Much to ponder here. Within all the atmospheric lamplight, It's clearly a very old park in late November or winter - all bare trees, dried leaves and shriveled vines. The original drawing was rendered in black ballpoint pen.

“Night Light” There’s nothing like curling up with a good book in the evening, especially when you have a friendly crescent moon over your shoulders to provide ample reading light. The moon is comfortably nestled in the tree; taking a rest from its nighttime journey whilst the cat is settled on a nice curved branch with a soft tuft of leaves as a cushion. Rendered in black ballpoint pen
