This humorous drawing is rendered in dip pen & ink using a crosshatching technique.

“Bullseye” giclée art print We’re in the middle of autumnal woods and the leaves are falling. Our cat friend has been enjoying a solitary, undisturbed meander amongst the trees, savoring the sights, sounds, and smells, when a rather bold leaf has the temerity to land on and stick to the middle of his face. Such undignified effrontery! He is clearly quite consternated. A rather bemused little bird looks on from a safe distance in the branches above. Rendered in black ballpoint pen & coloured pencil. The leaf is the only thing in the drawing that’s in colour.

“Mise en Scène pour la Nuit” available as an original ink drawing and as a giclée art print The title is "Mise en Scène pour la Nuit". The stage has been set for the night's events. The characters involved have assembled. (Yes, I consider the crescent moon, park bench, topiary hedge, and the lamp post all as players in my 'production'.) What might transpire tonight in this hidden, lonely corner of the old park? Are they waiting for another, as yet unseen participant to join them? You might think it unfair, but I'm leaving it up to your imagination to create the scenario and whatever story may follow. My drawings are collaborations between myself and the viewer. It takes your mind to complete them.

“Within a Galaxy of Leaves” available as an original ink drawing and as a giclée art print In a clearing, a noble white cat sits mesmerized by the open volume at her feet. Is it a favourite book revisited or something new? She reads by the generous light of the crescent moon which has kindly lowered itself from the night sky to provide illumination. The scene is framed by swaying grasses in the foreground and a mysterious white column. Behind her is a curtain of flowing, dark swirling leaves forming constellations of churning galaxies a la Van Gogh. Below the leaves, in the background, a shadowy figure lurks. Is all this actually happening or is it the dreamlike imaginings of the cat as she reads her book?

I can only imagine what kind of mysterious nocturnal mischief you would get up to!

When it’s not cold, is the window open? Thus, the pen would keep you from pulling a disappearing act. At least with the window open you can hear the birds!

A wire bound journal with a cover depicting a moon in a tree and a cat enjoying the moon’s company; a 15-oz mug decorated with a cartoon black cat, a moon that has a jack-o-lantern face, and a raven; and a set of greeting cards that depict a cat ecstatically sniffing flowers in a garden.

That said, I do have some items designed by @artofrob.bsky.social that I know will be received well: a journal for a creative, whimsical relative; a large mug for a tea-drinking Halloween enthusiast; cards for a gardener who appreciates people (and cats) who appreciate gardens.

“The Yearning for Adventure” *available as an original ink drawing and as a giclée art print Hark! What was that?! Our feline friend has heard mysterious noises emanating from out in the garden. Were the sounds an ‘it’ or a ‘them’? She thinks she sees shadowy shapes dart across the lawn and slither through the shrubbery. The poor cat is trapped indoors. All she wants is to leap through that window into a moonlit landscape of wild curiosity filled with unknown and unseen excitements - and perhaps an exploit or two of good old mischief.

Night Light There’s nothing like curling up with a good book in the evening, especially when you have a friendly crescent moon over your shoulders to provide ample reading light. The moon is comfortably nestled in the tree; taking a rest from its nighttime journey, whilst the cat is settled on a nice curved branch with a soft tuft of leaves as a cushion. Rendered in black ballpoint pen
