My favourite thing in this game has to be c41s. Theres nothing quite like being there to experience someone's first win to keep a fight alive for me.

My FFXIV themed entry for the "Dream Sequence" render challenge is finished. While brainstorming for ideas I stumbled upon the Dancing Green raid in FFXIV which features a soundtrack with a BPM of 120 and is also synced to the music. What a fitting fight for this, huh?
Nice challenge, was fun :)

All while the power vacuum in the heart of Bozja struggles to be filled, with threats of a civil war not out of the question. This isn't the perfect way to deal with the ending, but it allows me to continue engaging with the place I love most in XIV, while also venting out my hatred of ancaps.

overnight and offscreen, the IVth consolidates power and begins to draw resources for a counterattack, linking up with the IXth legion which, until now, had never been mentioned in lore. Once Garlemald falls, they declare themselves the rightful successors, and carry on their imperialist campaign

I have a longer writeup for my own purposes, which I would be terrified of showing someone, but the general differences are thus: Bajsaljen's proposal is met with tension and dispute, culminating in his subsequent demotion (and later assassination, in my canon...), Dalmasca is not liberated

The ending of the Bozja story, imo, left a lot to be desired. I ended up imagining a different story, trying to keep it as close to canon as I could, but obviously some liberties had to be taken. And if we ever get a Dalmasca themed expansion it breaks everything, buuut.. #BozjaWorldbuilding thread!

I'm usually too shy and self conscious to share my Bozja headcanons with any appreciable audience (mostly bc I'm not even sure what I'm doing half the time :P)... But I can certainly try!

In Leona's lore, I basically rewrote the entire end of the Bozja quests. It felt very rushed and unsatisfying from the developers pov, and a lot of things about it bothered me. So scrapped it and started building a continuation where the war didn't just abruptly 'end' offscreen. Also fuck Bajsaljen.

To die knowing she did everything she could to fight for those who put their faith in her.

I've written Leona over and over a few times. At one point she was a traitor to Bozja. At another point she was a synthetic simulacrum of a dead soldier. Now she's just... Herself, and I think grounding her made me like her more. Even if it makes her stand out less.

Which is why seeing her smile is a rare treat. She can't do it without wincing.

She has many scars from multiple fights. Her most debilitating is a slash across her face from a Legatus she was ambushed by. Her eye was damaged but her medic managed to save it, though her vision suffers for it. The scar reaches down to her mouth, too, which she struggles to open without pain.

There's so many things in the msq where im just like 'she would not fucking do that' which makes sense and is fine for a non personalized MMO. But if I was to remove anything, it would be the entire In From The Cold quest. I've never been more offput by anything in a game.

the worst part about cruiserweight just being a completely worthless tier in terms of gear is just that... I'm basically never gonna get to do m8s again. I really liked that fight... I'm gonna miss it.

After seeing some of their abilities... I don't really understand why these couldn't just be styles/class archetypes for swashbuckler/ranger respectively. They seem to fulfill virtually identical niches and don't really do anything unique?

I miss when ultimates had like, artsy names to them. 'The Weapon's Refrain', 'The Epic of Alexander', 'Dragonsong's Reprise'.

Futures Rewritten is a fun fight but the name is kinda lazy considering that's just the name of the patch it was based on..
