if I ever go properly "screaming about nothing in particular in the street" mad it will be due to having spent too much time having read about the opinions of men who have absolutely never cared about women's rights for one moment in their lives but decided to pretend just for the sake of racism

This is an unusual story about tax, heritage, artworks and access β€” but important, because you’re supposed to be able to see these things on.ft.com/45nf8Oz

They buried Donald Rose today, in Ilkeston, Derbyshire.
He was the UK's oldest WWII veteran He died at the age of 110.

Over 100 bikers followed his hearse. A huge crowd came out to see him off and they applauded as his coffin passed by.

He risked his life fighting fascism.

RIP

Listened to their predictions podcast earlier. NCFC got about 30 secs in 'also rans' section at the end. Apparently Grimshaw is our keeper πŸ™„ TBF though they did give some time over to the problems at Sheffield Wednesday. Input from BBC correspondents actually covering their local patch is good.

Perhaps if 16 and 17 yr. olds are getting the vote, maybe it will rise up the agenda. Would like to be optimistic

Over the years our bloomin' squirrel(s) has taken the nuts from our hazel tree, buried them all over the garden and the ones it doesn't retrieve later in winter have now grown so we have a load of saplings. Might start a garden centre πŸ˜ƒ

Others have noted that this means foreign-born people are LESS likely than UK-born people to be in prison. What I want to note is that The Times is now referring to foreign-born UK citizens as β€˜foreigners’. This includes Boris Johnson, Sir Mo Farah, Emma Watson, Rory Stewart and little old me.

Good article. There’s some great work being done as part of the Coastwise programme, including some effective community engagement.

Our grandparents knew titanic warfare, genocide, economic dislocation, smashed cities & hideous disease. They clung to the ideals of liberal democracy as if their lives depended on it

These people have known only peace, prosperity, safety and it has blown their minds. They hunger for dislocation.

FWIW it maybe just shows how incredibly tough it is to become a top flight, successful player in the modern game (here or abroad). Those with longevity and success in the Prem are the exception perhaps πŸ€”

An Apple Music banner advert for a new EP from UXB called 'Sexy Satie' featuring a photo of Erik Satie

Back in 1992 I made an 'ambient techno' track that used that famous Erik Satie riff as the main melody (the one that gets used in adverts)

It appeared on the very first Noisebox Records 12" release (nbx001) and got played on Annie Nightingale, John Peel and by some club DJs

Modigliani was born #OnThisDay in 1884.

He painted his sitters with stylised, elongated features and often left their eyes blank πŸ‘€

What do you mean you haven't heard about it?
