Honestly, Mamdani doesn't really have to do much at all. The NYPD is a mess and fucks up a lot. Let them. Let them fuck up, swoop in to offer solutions, and let the NYPD fuck up again with their opposition.

I don't think people appreciate just how much power the NYPD has. It's a permanent political force that is highly organized and outlasts any mayor. You cannot simply take such a force head-on. You need to be strategic about it. You also need to use its weight against it.
