If Trump manages to gut CAFE standards, but in the process ends up rolling back the vehicle footprint exemptions that incentivize automakers to build bigger cars, the result could end up being better for fuel economy overall. Current incentives are quite perverse and that should change.

Tariffs are terrible policy for Canada for all the same reasons they're terrible for the US. But percentagewise, US is a much bigger exporter to Canada than Canada is to the US. We've shot ourselves in the foot with these idiotic tariffs and they've responded by shooting themselves in the face.
