I wonder when smaller gaming studios are going to stop allowing themselves to be bought out by corps, only to be almost immediately shut down after acquisition to leave the workers without jobs.

I should maybe consider printing out some of the pieces I liked (that I made) and pinning them up as a reminder/constant inspo to aim for this. 🤔

Anyway this is all just rambling for myself so I can look back and think about it before I inevitably purge this post as well 😂

The things that were bothering me about it that I didn't realize: trying to get too detailed so that it becomes bogged down, stiff and busy, the light being too neutral, and lacking emphasizing expression/mood because of this.

Putting pen to paper again, hopefully I can stay on track and take to my art with a bit more care.

Picking out the things I liked: the animation-inspired look that I have always wanted to capture, the general line quality that I could work with thick or thin lines

I wish I could spot the issues that were bothering me in the moment rather than a year later, it would make the process so much better.

Then again, this is part of the growth process, being able to see the things glaringly obvious now that were not before, and learn from that.

Was skimming through the last art posts I made, and seeing the obvious flaws and wondering "why the fuck did I do it like that?"

Its so easy to get caught up in the moment and not see the things that later become obvious.
