I don't have an answer, the state of the world consistently leaves me asking painful questions and leaving me with the weight of answering those questions, feeling inept and unprepared.

so I continue not doing anything.

shrugging so hard my shoulders ascend to an upper plane.

so the question of worth is heavily weighed.

how can my content help someone? an indie, or someone looking for a little joy

is that worth contributing to a factor I find truly distasteful, whilst working uphill to do so (fighting an algorithm), and burning out simultaneously.

yuck.

it is a question I am asking every day, and it is kind of paralyzing, mostly out of stubbornness, mostly because I am frustrated, angry even, that people never seem to question the choices they make on a daily basis.

what right do I have to be angry if I'm not analyzing my own choices.

I try really hard to live conscientiously, to have an ethical backbone, and the world right now is doing what it can to break spines.

publishing under youtube in it's current direction feels like a choice, and I'm not sure my content, whatever positivity it may bring, is worth that choice?

in the grand scheme, I feel like this is slowly becoming my relationship with the internet as a whole. outside of publishing stuff on a personal blog, there isn't a lot of way of publicly *being* without working under a problematic umbrella, there just isn't.

it's pretty suffocating.

the value I do see in my content, is hopefully sharing a game I genuinely do like, to the people that might also like it, and maybe help a few indies find their audience. wouldn't that be nice.

but Youtube has done as much as they can to obstruct that goal, imo, along with the implementation of AI.

in general, I do think that my general presence on youtube was making "content" which was, in my opinion, of little to no value in most ways. no I'm not self-pitying here, or looking for a compliment hand out, it's how I feel about my work. That's the kind of content I feel comfortable making.

I hadn't mentioned it, but I haven't published anything on youtube for a while now. Part of that was for personal reasons (burn out) but a lot of the reason I haven't come back has to do with my disillusionment with youtube as a platform, and in "content" creation in general.

the game awards represent all of the problems with the games industry to me. all of them.

It does as much as it can to demote games as any kind of art form, and instead, contextualize it as a product, as content, which is *not* created, but sold, to consumers.

I truly hate it, thanks.
