I think that and hearing your neighbor dispel the notion of range-anxiety will both continue to spread. Your neighbor telling you about how EVs are fine for the vast, vast majority of their driving is different than an "expert" (someone Americans instinctively tune-out) saying the same.

I think that's when we'll see the gap-crossed and EVs really start to take off. Battery-tech is at the thresholds (for energy-density and manufacturing costs) that experts have forecast for decades would be the turning point.

Electricity prices, as EVs compete with data-centers, might delay expansion for some time. I think we're in the "chasm" phase of the technology adoption lifecycle and when the AI-bubble bursts, all of those upgrades to energy infrastructure are going to need a new market to pay for them.

Get this wrong (👇) and the power-provided drops by 20%+. Oh, you need to do this for both solstices and an equinox and then use a different formula to calculate the fixed angle to provide you the best efficiency across the seasons.
Hey, good luck, though!

Solar panels are one project I would have a contractor do (one that specializes in panel installs). The electrical on home panels can be a nightmare and a good contractor knows the angles for max efficiency for where you live.

I will contend that my hotdog farts should still be referred to as "mustard gas" even if that is not a chemically-accurate description.

They really need to get rid of DST or at least just make it permanent. Every year, I forget how much the Monday following the switch is just torture.

Look, they haven't even started recalling IRR, Stop-Lossing, or bringing back Retired-Reserve. We're a LOONNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGG way from a draft.

One of the best things about the snow being off the ground for the first time since December (November?) is seeing just how much garbage was hidden in the snowbanks.
Just neat little rows of trash along both sides of every street and in every parking lot.

I liked the older Nissan when I drove it, but the V6 didn't have near the torque that the Turbo-4 does. I gave up some tow-capacity for the ZR2, but I wouldn't want to tow more than the 5500lbs that I do with it, anyways. The DSSV shocks are like magic and worth the price premium (for me).

I really liked the Mavericks when I drove them. If I could have gotten rid of my sailboat, I would have gotten one of them instead of the Colorado.

For the first time that I can remember, new mid-sized trucks outnumbered new full-sized ones in the Lowes parking lot. It was like 3:1.

A really, really good lumpia-house is a thing to behold. The eggroll of all eggrolls. If they also have decent pancit and adobo chicken, that's a bonus.
Panama is close to my favorite Central American countries for their dishes, but for different reasons.

No one wants to die trying to save lives; because that stands in direct-contradiction to the thing you have dedicated your life to do... which is to save more lives.

A kid went out of this world because of a mistake that someone made. This isn't glorious martyrdom; it's a pointless death. One in a long line.
It's something we all signed up for; but, it's also the end that none of us wanted.

Did the arguments hinge around food? Because both have great food, but if you've got a preference, you're going to be much happier in the place that has it.

Me: Yeah! And fuck Putin! He is faggot for Trump!
Russian-voice: Yes! But... *long, awkward pause*
Me: Fuck all of these people!
Russian-voice: I piss on you. *piss emoji*
Me: Oh yeah, daddy!
Russian-voice: I will die next to you in the trenches.

Having been there myself, one of the first thoughts that goes through a Coastie's head when shit goes sideways is not, "Well, there go I, sacrificing myself on behalf of the betterment of society."
It's, "If I survive this, I'm going to murder every motherfucker that brought me here."

I would really like for the "bang-bang fuck-fuck games" military people to stop projecting their beliefs onto Coasties.
It's a completely different frame-of-mind; approach-to-the-world; and worldview outlook.
One of those things you can't possibly understand unless you do the job.
