Today we definitely ended the field season of our @bugnet.bsky.social experimental sites in @slfdavos.bsky.social. What a year - with such a great team of students this was one of my best field seasons ever! Thanks @bota-jb.bsky.social, Carole, Ida, Carla, Sevi, Flo and Irene for the great summer!

Sie befasst sich mit der nachhaltigen Nutzung und dem Schutz der Umwelt sowie mit einem verantwortungsvollen Umgang mit Naturgefahren. Die Forschungseinheit Waldressourcen und Waldmanagement erfasst und analysiert Veränderungen in der Landschaft und im Wald und sucht in der Gruppe Wissenschaftlicher Dienst LFI ab März 2026 für 8 bis 9 Monate jährlich wiederkehrend eine/-n Feldmitarbeiter/-in LFI 75 - 90% (w/m/d) Die Forschungsgruppe führt jeweils von März/April bis November Feldarbeiten zum 5. Landesforstinventar (LFI5) durch, welches wichtige Grundlagen für Politik, Forstpraxis und Forschung liefert. Auf rund 300 Stichprobeflächen erfassen Sie jährlich im Zweierteam den Zustand des Waldes in der ganzen Schweiz. Sie verfügen über einen Abschluss in der Schweiz als Förster/-in HF oder Forstingenieur/-in sowie über sehr gute Sprachkenntnisse in Deutsch und einer zweiten Landessprache. Erfahrung in Stichprobenaufnahmen ist von Vorteil. Sie sind verantwortungsbewusst, organisiert und flexibel. Sie arbeiten zuverlässig und exakt und bewegen sich sicher in unwegsamem Gelände. Climate change has minor impact on marmots for now Marmots now live at higher altitudes than they did 40 years ago, but climate change has not led to a major habitat shift.

#Climatechange is causing #marmots to move, but not far: this is the conclusion of a recent study by #SLF biologist @annekempel.bsky.social. She investigated the altitude at which most marmots currently live and compared her findings with data from 1982.

Klimawandel lässt Murmeltiere vorerst kalt Murmeltiere leben heute höher als vor 40 Jahren – ihr Lebensraum hat sich durch den Klimawandel aber nicht grundlegend verschoben.

🦫 Climate change has had only a minor impact on marmots near Davos – for now! Using a 40-year-old dataset, we resurveyed marmots along an altitudinal gradient. They now live ~86 m higher, but range margins are unchanged. More here: www.slf.ch/de/news/klim...
