She's like an old samurai whose great battles are behind her but every once in a while she kills a man with piece of paper just to prove a point

To most Americans this has come out of nowhere, and no compelling rationale has been given. I could see, if it all wraps up quickly, it not causing significant further damage to Trump's already crummy political standing, but if it drags on, it drags him further down with it

It's absolutely believable that this stupid war has been launched to prop up the failing MAGA government, Putin and Netanyahu have benefited politically from similar quagmires, but Trump is just too dumb and lazy to put in the smallest bit of effort to bring the country along with him

normal caveats about wealth measures vs GSP aside, we should not be surprised that the elite impunity political environment has been good economically for the people on top, and that all of this is not solely about getting to say slurs during business hours

A lotta "Trump is the candidate of peace" types out there today seemingly having an easier time claiming they were "lied to" than accepting that everybody who warned them this stuff was going to happen turned out to be 100% right

a progressive income tax? sorry kiddo, that betrays a "utopian" desire that can only ever end in tragedy. but a relentless program of constant wars, occupations, and genocides fast and slow, for oil, land, and fulfilling the commands of a blood-hungry god? thats just Adults in the Room doing Policy

It’s probably my favorite movie of all time, definitely PT Anderson’s funniest IMO

Yeah, so good. The long shot in that scene of Mark Wahlberg’s face as he slowly recognizes what he’s become was mesmerizing

Sinners, Superman, One Battle After Another, The Day the Earth Blew Up… some fantastic times were had at the movie theater last year

Warner Bros had a great year in 2025 so I guess the only positive thing to say is I guess they went out on top

I have a soft spot for Deliverance but Boogie Nights will always be my number one

That’s probably not an unpopular opinion to express, possibly less popular to state would be my opinion that Paul Thomas Anderson never hit those same heights again either

I read both Burt Reynolds and Mark Wahlberg later expressed regret for their parts in Boogie Nights which is a bummer because hands-down it’s the best thing either of them ever did
