Yesterday here in Charlotte it was 75 degrees and sunny.

A sad update from the “operating table” as I was doing a bit of maintenance today - the battery connector got nicked out and it’s completely stripped.

It’s dead and I now need to get a replacement motherboard.

The for-sure "surgery" was also a success, even if modern macOS is a bit buggy when trying to restore a device 16 years older than it.

But it worked with an older 400GB microSD card and I've got over double the original storage in this thing now.

I have prepped my miracle $70 7th gen iPod classic, “Golden Boy”, for what I call “iPod brain surgery” - and prying this thing open with its aluminum faceplate today was PAINFUL.

But I did it. And now the work begins to replace its (presumably) dead hard drive.

Sigh… I’m going to bed.

I work in a hotel (back-end stuff) and we have what’s known as “the 15-5 rule” where you should greet guests if they’re 15 feet from you and say hello to them if they’re within 5 feet.

It’s not the greatest thing but it’s a small pleasantry so it’s fine.
