Several rows of fabric patches printed with 'Baby's first strike' and a dinosaur hatching from an egg
all the first batch was claimed before my shift was over & I've got the next batch drying in the studio for tomorrow. I might just make a dent in my scrap bin at this rate!

Keeping busy during the #BCGEU strike with these fresh picket patches. Can't believe we're half way through week 5 without a serious offer on the table.

Fixed some timing and needle alignment issues but holy moly did the previous owner ignore those. This base plate is actually punched all the way through! I didnβt know a needle could do that!

Picked up this old MemoryCraft 5000 as part of an auction lot and while the internet tells me itβs not worth getting running, a win98 vm isnβt a huge obstacle and all the machine itself seems to need is new oil, a fresh fuse and ~30 years of compacted lint removed. Not today landfill!

New post up about making my green smocked dress, I adore the results of hand smocking and this pleating machine really sped the process up vs my first fully hand-done attempt, but what a time commitment! with.threadlyintent.com/gobsmocked/

unfinished green dress with heavy hand smocked (gathered) areas
Letting myself go full on with the fabric manipulation on this one. I finished the smocking on the waist like 3 years ago and left the bodice as a problem for future me until last month π

I was in the woods when I stumbled upon a ruined old cistern where various mice and woodland creatures were having a weekend-long solstice feast.
They welcomed me with an acorn cap full of dandelion liqueur, but I don't don't how to tell that's not enough fuckin booze for me, I'm huge you dumb shit
Chatbots β LLMs β do not know facts and are not designed to be able to accurately answer factual questions. They are designed to find and mimic patterns of words, probabilistically. When theyβre βrightβ itβs because correct things are often written down, so those patterns are frequent. Thatβs all.

I just realized that since my sister isn't on Bluesky, she can't have her gift spoiled by me posting it here!
Her fav colour is blue, the twin faced moon and twinned snakes in the Auryn are nods to her being a Gemini.

I love making tarot cases, maybe even as much as I love making witch hats. Making my deck a cozy, protective home really helps me feel connected to a new deck.
This one is made of alpaca felt, leather, silk, cotton and a fused glass cabochon, all materials were scraps &/or sourced 2nd hand π₯°
Probably reasonable with a bit of practice, getting a consistent thickness & density is the hard part. I avoided that using the woven then boiled wool fabric instead of straight felted fibre here. Not sure how well that fabric would work for capeline stretching and blocking, but now I'm curious!
