I am reminded this morning that the wisdom of nature rides on the wind. If you slow down and are quiet you can grok it in the core of your being.

Wet and cold morning so I decided to grab breakfast at Mike’s. It was on my way. As soon as I walked in I felt warm and welcomed. Best decision so far today. And the omelet was yummy. People make or break a place.

Today was a hard day. Many emotions. The advice to embrace the uncertainty was spot on and hard to do. I’m in a lovely county campground this evening. Glad to be here. I’ve met several friendly folks. I’ve learned the feel of the campground is really important to your comfort level.

And it was amazing!!

I started from Anchorage, Alaska a little less than three weeks ago.

She was right there in my camp site. We looked at each for a moment and then she walked away. It was lovely.

Agreed!!!

I’m just getting started on a similar journey. Any pointers you’d care to share?

Found a wonderful state campground in far northern Minnesota. Perfect weather. It’s lovely. We are hanging for a couple days.
I really like the government campgrounds so much better than the RV parks or privately owned campgrounds.

Last evening I stopped alongside the road to figure out how to get to my campground. A state trooper stopped to ask if I needed help. I got an escort to the campground. It was nice. Before she left my daughter told me I could trust people (well, some of them) and not to be afraid to ask for help. 😊

I met an older gentleman this evening. He’s living at the camp ground cause he’s separated from his wife. She got the farm. He seemed sad and didn’t know what his future holds. Campground closes soon. He wants to go home so he can hunt. He offered help if I needed it. Kindness

It’s a beautiful evening in northern Minnesota. It’s my first day of travel and night camping by myself. It was difficult to get started but once on the road courage won over fear. 💪🏻 I thought of the lady I met in the Yukon and said another thank you.
Off to my first national park tomorrow.

Driving through North Dakota is a little windy!! And rainy but at least we were in the center of North America!

Back in the US

Traveling through Saskatchewan these days. I admit the Yukon has my heart. No words to describe what it meant to me. The rest has been … underwhelming. Mostly agricultural and flat. Not my jam. 😊
Very much appreciating the travel time with my daughter. I will always cherish the memories. ❤️

Wildlife at the campsite!!!

On the drive we hadn’t seen much wildlife and thought that’s the way it was going to be. It wasn’t. We got to drive very slowly thru a herd of bison, just saw five bears, had a busy beaver in the lake at our campground last night, many squirrels, loons (love listening to them) and a bunny.

Part 4: And then she said I decided not to be sad. She’s been on the road for 6 months and loves it. I told her she’s an inspiration and truly she was for me. Some fear dissipated replaced by excitement and anticipation. Thank you!

Part3: I met a lady traveling alone in a tear drop camper this morning. She said her husband died, her dog died and her last cat died ( at this point I’m thinking she’s a walking country song).

Part 2: I’ve been battling some fear about what I’m doing. I’m outside my comfort zone and there are a lot of unknowns. Don’t get me wrong I’m down for the adventure, I love it and know I’m doing the right thing but there’s till some fear.

Since leaving Alaska I’ve been traveling in a sea of RVs, some of them so huge I wonder if there’s two stories in them. The tear drop campers stand to me. Maybe one tear drop in fifteen RVs. And a single female travel alone definitely stands out.
