(1) Press coverage of both the petition and the govt response can occur, spreading the word
(2) Snagging a negative or dismissive govt response helps lift the “fog of war” on who cares about the matter

(3) These have more weight than the Change dot org ones, as CA + AUS + UK all ask for govt response. They are big girl Petitions
(4) Spreading the petition itself brings attention to the issue
(5) In the UK, it’s part of a larger push from the public saying online censorship is not OKA (see OSA)
