also: this isn’t in reference to any one situation. this is an overall critique and feeling i’ve had for ages. don’t try to apply my logic to one singular thing and make assumptions. if this was about one particular drama, i’d say it.

idk. i just hate that we don’t have a space with a culture of understanding or, at least, a space where taking accountability doesn’t mean the end of the road. maybe i just see it that way, but it makes fandom so bleak and enjoyment so much more difficult.

i’m not saying we shouldn’t critique or condemn, either - we should! it just feels like there’s an overwhelming influx of it because people latch onto something and can’t fathom not getting to share their hot take. maybe there’s just too much going on for me - maybe this is a me thing.

it’s tiring to see others get torn down, regardless of whether or not they “deserve” it. it’s tiring to see situations be sliced and diced by people who don’t necessarily have all the information, but think they do. i am tired, and i just…don’t want to be.

how do we shift that? why has it grown to be like this in the first place? i guess i’m just tired of a lot of the moral superiority i see in fandom spaces. a lot of people feel like they lack compassion and empathy in favor of having some kind of gotcha moment.
