We've been hounding the major parties (and some independents!) for their positions on renters' rights before the election. We've finally heard back from everyone, and we're excited to share what we've found. But what were we actually asking about? Swipe below for what we think renters need to see!

I was looking forward to a debate with my Liberal opponent on the ABC’s 730 tonight but she has unfortunately declined the invitation.

Our community wants a local representative who listens to them and is accountable to them. I am available to take up the ABC's offer anytime between now and the election.

In 2019 I proudly placed 200 signs from Parramatta to Newtown, from Burwood to Brooklyn, and from North Sydney to Hornsby 💜

We need change that’s rooted in community needs, not what plays well in Canberra.

We are weeks out from a federal election and neither major party has offered any serious solutions to housing affordability, climate change or rising grocery bills and energy bills.

The bar has fallen so low for the major parties that they're both hoping voters won't notice how little they're offering and just vote for the one they dislike the least.

Well, my community has noticed, and we're taking matters into our own hands. After 75 years of one political party holding power in Bradfield, we are standing up. We now have over 1,000 volunteers, have knocked on 10,000 doors, and have held over 100,000 conversations.

We're advocating for serious reforms to the structural economic problems this country faces – and an end to the embarrassing political games the major parties keep playing.

We want affordable childcare that's good for the economy and our kids. We want to fix the housing crisis by turbocharging construction and giving first-home buyers a leg-up. We want to increase supermarket competition so Coles and Woolworths lower their prices.

And we finally want serious climate change – an end to new coal projects and a boost to renewable energy and storage.

We've had enough of a two-party system that has failed us. We want local leadership, not party politics.

This election, we are voting for people, not political parties – we're voting independent.
